Roulette Strategies

OK. So perhaps the title is a bit misleading. It is no secret that roulette is a game of chance and therefor there is no sure fire way to win every single time. But there are many roulette strategies that can be applied to the game in order to give the player a better chance at succeeding. The idea is to take in more winnings than losings in a controlled and large sample size. Well, let's get right into it.

Choosing a Table

There are different types of roulette tables, and if you are playing online then chances are good that they have at least a couple of choices. There is American roulette and European roulette. It is wise to choose European over American because there is only one green number versus two on the American wheel. This increases the odds of winning any given single bet. The next trick is to look for deals on specific tables. These deals include the surrender rule and the en prison rule. A table that uses the surrender rule only takes half of a bet that loses because of the ball landing on 0 or 00. The downside is that the rule only applies to even money bets. The en prison rule is only used on European tables and it allows a player to let their bet ride if the ball lands on 0.

Roulette Strategies:

There are many classic roulette strategies that have been used and refined over the years. These strategies tend to work in almost all casinos.

Martingale Strategy

This is a common strategy employed on many different casino games and sometimes even sports betting. The idea is to start your bet at some low number and keep doubling your bet size until you win. Then you go back to your original bet size. You will have to find the right table though because most roulette tables in casinos have a low enough limit size to make this strategy difficult to win with. You should only use this system with even money bets.

D'Alembert Strategy

This is also used only for even money bets. With this one you start with a comfortable unit size and you add one unit after each loss and subtract one unit after each bet.

Numbers Strategy

This is a system that has been developed for inside number bets. It uses the idea that numbers that have not landed in quite some time are statistically more probable to come up sooner. However, be warned that this is only true for a set of very large spins.
